About Me

I've loved stories my whole life. The first sentence I ever spoke was an emphatic, "Read book!" Since then, I've read many. I became immersed in storytelling of all types, earning dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in English (Creative Writing) and Theater (Performance) from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Philosophy in English (Popular Literature) from Trinity College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland.

Upon graduation, I leveraged my storytelling skills at the National Geographic Society, where I spent 11 years crafting compelling messages to make a difference for our planet alongside some of the best writers and photographers in the world. I worked extensively with the Creative, Brand Marketing, and Museum teams to write everything from emails and style guides to full museum exhibitions.

I expanded my writing repertoire by serving our nation as a federal contractor with PotomacWave Consulting, where I provided technical writing expertise for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and led corporate strategic communications and marketing for PotomacWave. I also supported PotomacWave's business development operations through brand storytelling and editing.

Now I'm ready to take on a new writing challenge. I'm excited to discover where I can make an impact next! When I'm not at my desk, you can often find me onstage or backstage at one of the theaters in Maryland, D.C., or Virginia. I'm an avid supporter of the arts and enjoy performing extensively across the area. I also delight in playing board games, reading, traveling, and walking near my home in Columbia, Maryland.
